Montreal, Quebec, Canada Email: shiracom@videotron.ca I was born in Haifa, Israel but moved to Montreal when I was almost three years old. I kept going back and forth throughout my teens and twenties. I finally settled back in Montreal with my husband and produced two kids in my thirties. All this time, I wrote: poems, journals, articles. I began to write professionaly in 1990, when I was hired as a writer by the Canadian Space Agency. I wrote for ministers, astronauts, prime ministers, and engineers. I published press releases, articles, pamphlets, brochures, and booklets. When I had my second baby, I decided to stay home and work from there, so I wrote, produced, and directed more than fifty episodes of the television show Real Families, which airs across Canada on Life network. This reality parenting show earned me the honour of a Gemini nomination in the first year of its broadcast, 1998. Since then, I have been working on the development of a children's animated series for broadcast, and the development of a scientific documentary-style one-hour series on the history of science. In my spare time, I am working on a collection of short stories.
