Connie Ibarzabal

Coacalco, Mexico

Home page:

I wrote theater and dance reviews thoughtout 30 years. These have been published by some of the most important mexican daily papers, such as EL UNIVERSAL (1971-1982). After that I moved into the radio industry and broadcasted theater, dance and musicreviews, interviews, comments, etc.
For personal reasons I stopped writing about five years ago. Nowadays, I am willing to start doing it again, although I would like to change the topic and become a stringer for a foreign publication.
Furthermore, I am interested in promoting my two plays: "Didette": the story of a schizopherinc girl and her experiences in a madhouse: and "Las dos hermanas" (The two sisters): two twin sisters who fight over the bringing up of the son of one of them. I would also like to publish my tales which, to my surprise, are all about women, being this the reason why I have called the compilation: "Mujeres, Mujeres, Demasiadas Mujeres" (Women, Women, Too Many Women). Although my literary work is all written in Spanish, I am perfectly able to write in English.
I have also written an English-Spanish Dictionary of Idioms and Slangs called: "Speak Up! Be happy! Be free! and say it in English!"
None of the above has ever been published for lack of promotion on my behalf, although my plays have been read by professional actors in several occasions, having received very good reviews from theater people as well as from critics.

Interests: Theater, dance, sociological aspects. Also, I am a playwright.
