H. Gayle Swinburne

Elmhurst, Illinois, United States

Email: Oberlink1@aol.com

I've only had one item published in my lifetime. It was a poem I wrote about my brother's accidental death. It was entitled Letting Go and was published in Springfield Magazine.

I've written campaign material, hand-outs for personnel training, numerous poems and short stories. I was given a second place City-Wide award for a short story entry entitled A Life in the Day of Kate MacMillan. It was chosen by the Springfield, IL Area Arts Council to respresent "on my own time" literary work and displayed in a local bank lobby. Woohoo!

I've got a great sense of humor, evidenced by the fact that I'm still alive after 41 years, five kids, one ex-husband, numerous ex-Mr. Rights, two dogs, a brief career in politics, a run-in with the cops, and a bad wisdoom tooth!

Interests: Essays of social interests, usually female-based. Short stories of the dramatic or mysterious, poetry, children's bedtime stories, journal entries, greeting cards, short bios, life-edifying, self-fulfillment type messages.
