I have over 10 years of writing/editing experience with a solid focus on corporate communications, developing works for a broad range of companies and organizations such as McGill University Department of Family Medicine, Rio Tinto, Alcan, The Canadian Council for Human Resources in the Environment Industry and Technicolor. Some of the materials I’ve worked on include web content, press releases, newsletters, books, articles, reports, brochures, corporate videos, etc. I’m a short story writer as well and was recently awarded an honorable mention in the Quebec Writing Competition 2008. In the past five years I’ve also begun graphic designing/illustrating and have worked on flyers, logos, posters and more.

As I’ve owned my own business for over ten years, I have excellent time management skills and am known for being a supplier that is always on time and on budget. I’m very resourceful and an excellent researcher and problem solver. I’m able to manage the various phases of a project, from conception to delivery, as I did for Iron Ore Canada, successfully creating the company’s sustainable development report for three consecutive years - The Company’s most important document.

I also have experience in media/PR, as I began my career in the late ‘90s in journalism, writing for newspapers and magazines such as The Windsor Star. I’ve written press releases and articles dealing with everyday issues as well as those that are highly sensitive - working with companies in the resource sector has been especially challenging as environmental and community concerns often clash with client objectives.

My command of the English language is excellent and my French is at an intermediate level. I’m proficient in Microsoft Word, Adobe Professional and Illustrator with some experience in PowerPoint, Excel, Photoshop, InDesign and Dreamweaver. I have a BA in English literature from Concordia University as well as two years of creative writing.
