I am currently 44 years old, was born and have lived in England all of my life. I am a writer, writing Christian and Non-Christian novels, Children's Stories and Poetry.
Married for 18 years we separated and I now live with and raise our one biological son who is 15 and a great son!
For most of my working life I worked for Christian Housing charities in a number of Management roles. My work included a great deal of face to face work with; Homeless Kids, Teenage Runaways, Single Parent Families and clients experiencing mental health issues.
Currently I am disabled and cannot work as a result of my suffering from several illnesses which when coupled together do greatly affect my mobility etc.
I first started writing Children’s Stories for my son and his friends but my continued writing really came more as a result of my feeling led write a book called “One Prodigal’s Journey”. This is a personal testimony to God and was in all truth written not only as a testimony of faith but by way of therapy for the abuse I suffered as a child/teenager.
When I had finished the book (entitled "One Prodigal's Journey") I then felt led to write a Christian novel "Whispering Winds" which I have now finished.
“Whispering Winds” is a Christian Novel in which the main character (also named Whispering Winds) a young Native American boy, leaves his home and people as a result of abuse that he suffers and begins a journey of faith, during which he meets and is used in the blessing and healing of many other characters.
Having finished "Whispering Winds" and having shown it to several friends and acquaintances I was then encouraged to write a follow up novel "Through the Eyes of Smudge”.
(Smudge being one of the first and main characters that Whispering Winds met along his journey.)
This having been written the series continues and I am currently working on a continuation.
The Children's Stories I write were originally written as gifts for my son and his friends and I enjoy writing them immensely. So far I have written several short children’s books on two main story lines. These being the exploits of my son and his friends with “The Shadow Children” and my adopted daughter Suzie’s adventures with two fairies called “Huggles and Snuggles”.
Like "One Prodigal's Journey", my poetry spans a wide range of subjects from abuse to faith based topics and yes whilst I am unable to get out to church much, faith is a large part of our family life.
None of my work is as yet published and this if any will be my first attempt at finding an agent and getting published.
In terms of agents and publishers, I would be happy to consider both English and American agents and publishers as I have many friends in America and due to the fact that the novels, Whispering Winds, Through The Eyes of Smudge and any follow up novels are set in America.
I enjoy writing immensely and look forward to writing much more in the future.
