Veronica earned a BS degree in Education from the University of New Mexico. She taught K-3 in the Los Angeles innner city school district, and served as Chairperson of the Safe Kids Coalition for Children's Hospital of New Mexico from '93 to'97. She was winner of National Safety Leadership Award in 1997. Today Veronica is a Senior Crime Prevention Specialist with the Albuquerque Police Department Crime Prevention Unit, and a Victim Advocate with the APD Victim Assistance Unit. Veronica is also a member of Team H.O.P.E., a program of the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. She works on a national level with families who have missing / abducted children.
