Taran Rampersad

San Fernando, Trinidad and Tobago

Home page:

I have been mainly a software developer - of late, a mainly Open Source/Free Software developer. I'm also a writer, and hasve been published on the internet in newsletters, with circulations ranging from 13,000 to 300,000.

I have written mainly about software development and project management.

I'm American and a citizen of Trinidad and Tobago. Growing up, I attended Presentation College in San Fernando, Trinidad. During the period at Presentation College, I was involved in troubleshooting industrial equipment with my father, working his way up to managing the Offset printery and programming. This diversity continued as I held many jobs, including the a Hospital Corpsman in the U.S. Navy and high tech jobs. There's not much that I haven't done, and what I haven't done I typically end up trying to, at the least, understand.

My writing has been seen on various websites, from to the the American Press Institute's weblog, to Newsforge and Linux Journal to my own site(s), which I am currently focusing on as I seek contracts.

My full biography is much more involved, and as survivors are the ones who write history, I'm holding off a bit longer to write a biography.

Interests: Sciences, Computing and related technologies, Fiction, Poetry, Language history, botany and engineering - to mention a few. Anything that I know little about is something I usually dive into.
