The anthology "Stories of Strength" is available through Lulu.com 100% of proceeds go to the American Red Cross for disaster relief to help the victims of Katrina. My two essays, "The Organ Man" and "Our Faces Are Not Our Own" were chosen to share space with many very talented writers. Highlighted are: Orson Scott Card (Ender's Game), Wil Wheaton (of Stand By Me fame) and Robin Lee Hatcher (Story Jar).

The Project was spearheaded by
author, Jenna Glatzer, the founder of AbsoluteWrite.com

I have a degree in English/Writing and started my love of
writing through the short story. I have compiled several
with a special interest in little girls (because I was one!).
Author Percival Everett encouraged and influenced me on
many levels with my writing.

I took a screenwriting class with Thomas Pope (Good
Scripts/Bad Scripts) because no other writing course was
offered that semester. I discovered a talent in myself for
the visual and for dialog so I continued my education by
going to Prague for the summer to be mentored by
screenwriter/director Miroslav Mandic. I highly
recommend his course but be prepared for a "baptism by
fire."

Many of my short stories have been published in
University literary publications, online publications and I have received several awards along the way but I keep coming back to the all-consuming, odds-are-against-you screenwriting. I've never been accused of taking the easy way out!

Good luck to all that have ink running through their veins.

Janet
