Email: alisonbcruz@hotmail.com What can I tell you about my life that is interesting enough for you to want to know about me? Well for starters, I am a 26 year old mother of two, married at twenty to my childhood sweetheart. I can tell you that I feel priveleged to be alive. When I was a newborn I almost perished in a fire at my mother's old bronx apartment. At the tender age of four I had to have skin graphs done on my hands because my baby sitter at the time for no apparent reason other than being high, burned my hands under hot scalding water and beat me. And I endured sexual abuse at the hands of an unfortanetly well liked and trusted neighbor for several years. My mother does know to this day. I will leave it in God's hands. I know he will be dealt with later. I grew up to a single mother that in my eyes did the best she could to raise me. She worked and went to college at nights. I grew up in "spanish Harlem" other wise known as "El Barrio" of New York City. I was fortunate enough to escape there unharmed. Most of my childhood friends are either dead, on drugs, or single mothers to busy to maintain friendships with me. I am striving to become a Police Officer in my county, I take the Police exam this May. I am a Freshman at my local college majoring in Criminal Justice And I am the mother of a child who has been labled as having "Pervasive Developmental Disorder". For those of you who arent familiar with the term it is another word for Autism, but just not as severe. In any event I am coping with the hand that I have been dealt. Things happen for a reason, and I learned the hard way never to question God. Im just happy to have escaped the horrors of my young life. I now reside in Central Islip, New York on Long Island. Where life with my husband and boys is imperfect, but beautiful.
