Chitra Soundar

Singapore, Singapore

Email: csoundar@singnet.com.sg

Home page: http://chitrasoundar.netfirms.com

Chitra Soundar is a writer whose work is enriched by her diverse professional experience and inspired by the ethnic culture of India. A computer software professional by vocation, for the last 11 years, excelling in Computer Education, Career Counseling and Software development, her interest in storytelling became evident when she won the first prize for story telling at the age of 7.

At the age of nine, Chitra made up her first rhyme, few
minutes before recording a radio-show for her sister to present on the state radio. Her mother writes and directs humorous plays in vernacular Tamil for children and adults and her father is her constant source of encouragement.

The official babysitter of her family, author of more than eight print and e-books, Chitra Soundar feels at ease with children and adults alike. A voracious reader herself, she reads more mysteries than any other genre. Biographies are a close second in her preferred list of subjects. When all the writing and reading is done, she is a whiz in the kitchen, whipping up Indian vegetarian dishes, her family eager for a second helping every time.
