My first novel "Roadworks" is set in Brussels in the near future. All transport, road, rail and underground traffic is managed by a central authority.
An african terrorist group brings the city to a standstill by creating the greatest gridlock in history during a NATO meeting. They demand that the powers of the Western world devote one year's military budget to sending humanitarian aid to Africa. For once the hostages are the decision makers and talk of 'acceptable losses' takes on a new meaning. Interests: Ancient civilisations, Science-fiction, films.
