Greetings and salutations,
I am a published magazine features writer/editor, non-fiction author and newspaper social commentator. My first book project is a coffee-table book pertaining to the Muslim's perceived mandatory head-dress, aptly entitled "Tudung: Beyond Face Value".
My second book project, entitled "Lee Kuan Yew: In His Own Words", is a non-fictional collection of quotable quotes from Singapore's prominent political figure, Senior Minister Lee Kuan Yew. I have published several social commentaries covering contemporary socio-political issues for newspapers like Today (Singapore), New Straits Times (Malaysia),The Jakarta Post (Indonesia), Bangkok Post (Thailand) and Khaleej Times (UAE).
I am also currently working on my first fictional novel and on the lookout for more ideas to explore. I plan to move into book publishing (both fiction and non-fiction) on a full-time basis.
Needless to say, I am actively seeking publishers and agents willing to discuss my book ideas. To earn my daily keep, I reprise the role of managing editor of The Muslim Reader, a magazine/journal that deals with contemporary issues affecting Muslim communities in Asia. I also take on freelance writing assignments.
My life's mission is to facilitate the elevation of Southeast Asian literature such that their experiences can be represented on the international front. Interests: Intellectually stimulating discussions. I am especially intrigued by religion, social issues and postcolonial literature.
