Willilamsport, Indiana, United States
I was born, raised, married and employed in the same Indiana community for 64 years. Wife of a farmer, mother, grandmother and administrative secretary at a Christian Montessori Day School. Taught adult Bible classes for thirty years. Traveled as a singer/poet for several years.
Spoke on college campuses to mental health care professionals and gerentologists concerning the poetry in Mind Song and the film, Minnie Remembers, which won a Golden Eagle film award in 1977.
Began writing again after several years of writers' block. In the interim I carved three full-size carousel figures and dozens of miniatures.
Most of the carousel poetry was published in The Carousel News & Trader. The poem, Tribute, was used in the brochure for the Bradbury Exchange's carousel plate collection. At present I am working on illustrations for REFLECTIONS ON THE CAROUSEL as well as two related single-poem illustrated books.
Since 2000 I have published two books, RACHEL'S DAUGHTERS and ANGEL WORLD TRILOGY with iUniverse. Have a fourth book in the Angel World series ready to publish and a collection of poetry, SPLINTERS OF LIGHT, for which Gloria Gaither has written an introduction. Several children's books have been self-published as well.
