Melissa Martinich

Missoula, Montana, United States

The three most important themes in my life are serving Jesus, loving my family and
teaching junior high and high school at a tiny Christian school in Missoula, Montana
where I graduated in 1987. I write about what I love, so these three topics dominate my

I teach Writing For Publication to juniors and seniors at our school. I'm honored to be on
the "inside" watching these young writers' skills develop into work that is satisfying, has
integrity and is worthy of submission to a publisher. My class eagerly awaits the time
when I announce, "You're ready to submit your manuscript!"

I have written several children's stories that would be suitable for christian magazines,
sunday school papers or picture books. If asked, I would also be willing to submit
illustrations with those manuscripts.

A writing project that I'm currently working on is a study guide for C.S. Lewis' Space
Trilogy. As I will be teaching a high school January term course on these three sci-fi
classics, I feel writing an in-depth study guide will give me a leg up on the subject and, if
published, be very helpful to other teachers, pastors, professors or others who want to
expand their knowledge about C.S. Lewis and his work.

I have also written some poetry in an effort to describe my relationship with Christ, my
husband and my children.

Interests: reading, teaching (with energetic and irresistable style--Ha!), listening to and singing bluegrass and gospel, painting, dinner out with Hubby, watching my beautiful children, baking apple pies, learning. Oh yeah...I like to write, too!
