Gary West
Agent: none; looking for one now Greenwood, South Carolina, United States Email: westg@mail.gwd50.k12.sc.us I've been an educator for 30+ years. I write regularly for education journals, covering topics related to curriculum, management, technology, and more. I particularly like to write instructional or technical pieces. For example, I've just completed a piece for an educational administrators' journal about the future technologies for classrooms, using lyrics from a beach music tune to make the points about Palms, e-readers, tablet PCs, new roll-up flat screens, and other new and important technologies for education. I've had free articles published in journals for most of the last fifteen years. I'd like to do a little for money, now. I'm particularly good at expanding on concepts, developing the detailed foundations that underly the concepts, and creating the details that lead to the desired results. I have a degree in mathematics (so I understand the linear stuff), an advanced degree in counseling (so I understand the fuzzy stuff), and an education degree (so I understand the circular stuff -- you know, like new math, old math, new math, old math). I've been a high school math teacher, an administrator at the school district level, and a project writer. I'm the parent of two college students and an at-home teenager (yeah, I know I'm too old for that combination). I had my mid-life crisis in my mid-twenties (during which I was married three times -- the fourth time has gotten me all those kids over the last 21 years). I'm looking for an agent who can help me succeed at free-lancing. Interests: Business writing, technology, education, politics, science, and anything else worth writing about
