Clayton is an historian, with more than twelve books out, about five or six of them single-authored, the rest co-authored, translated, edited volumes.
Presses include Cambridge U.P., Univ. of Georgia Press, Harcourt, Brace (with and without Jovanovich), Univ. of Alabama, Wiley Blackwell, Thompson Wadsworth, Ohio University, and others, both academic and commercial.
Latest book was a book on Christian living, "Cleared for Landing: On Living a Christian Life," while two others under contract, one finished and now in production, "Bartolomé de las Casas and the Conquest of the Americas" for Wiley Blackwell and another now going through the rewrite and editing on "Bartolomé de las Casas, Apostle to American Indians" for Cambridge U. P.
Next projects include a popular history of the air war over the Bay of Pigs, April, 1961, another Christian book in a series I am planning (title of the series will be something like "How to Live as a Christian Today" and each volume will be devoted to one theme; I have just about finished note taking for one on "Wall Street and Scripture: Can They Co-Exist," something along those lines which draws on the voluminous teachings in the Bible on money), a novel I have long ago finished and tweaked over the years which remains unpublished (about the discovery of Christian symbols and practices in the Americas before the Europeans arrived), a second volume to a book I wrote years ago on W. R. Grace & Co. in Latin America, and, a number of others.
I need an agent to help me market these.
The last one I wrote, "Cleared for Landing" got no traction in Christian publishing because I just don't know anything about that field.
