Dorothy Goins, 36, is a native of Philadelphia. She self published a poetry book, Woman I Know in December 1998. Xpressit recently published her first novel, Married Man, in May 2002.
Exposing her talent through open mic performances in venues throughout Philadelphia, Goins established herself as a poet. Her developed interest in journalism expanded from attending Temple University in 1996. She relocated to Charlotte, North Carolina in 1998, where she attended Queens College, studying psychology.
With a diverse cast of characters, a truly realistic look inside relationships and the ups and downs in life, Married Man is a story about love, soul-searching, and redemption. Miles Jordan's unwillingness to let go of his past could cripple his marriage, while Kendra Davis can't seem to surpass the feelings she has always had for Miles. But the deeper they probe, the closer they come to facing dilemmas they can't begin to deal with, let alone accept.
