She holds honorary society memberships in Pi Kappa Delta, speech, Alpha Kappa Delta, sociology, National Forensic League and Quill and Scroll, journalism. Publications other than thirteen books include coauthored national and international journal articles. Her latest book with ABC-CLIO/Praeger, Suicide Warfare, is published in 2013. She is currently the Author and Editor for the title, ABUSE: AN ENCYCLOPEDIA OF CAUSES, CONSEQUENCES, AND TREATMENTS with ABC-CLIO/Greenwood. Other activities include general consultation, consultation on three television documentaries, expert testimony, numerous presentations to all types of groups and interviews with media. She participated in the Teachers Exchange Program while in China with her husband, Professor James Skaine, at Beijing Normal, Hebei Teachers, and Shaanxi Teachers, and Guangxi Teachers Universities, May 1991. Rosemarie has taught Composition II at Hawkeye Community Collge, Waterloo, Iowa and Industrial Sociology and The Family at Wartburg College, Waverly, Iowa. She has also taught high school English at Ovid Central School, Ovid, New York.
Skaine has traveled in Canada, China, Cuba, Mexico, England, France, Italy, Greece, Kenya and Tanzania. In 2002, she participated as a Delegate in the XII International Congress of the Family in Havana, Cuba. In January 2004, she traveled to Kenya and Tanzania to study for her book on FGM.
Since 2005, Rosemarie Keller Skaine's biography has appeared in the Marquis Who's Who books: Who's Who of American Women, Who's Who in the World, and Who's Who in America.
On March 8, 2013, she was the invited keynote speaker on the UN interactive panel entitled, "The Allure of Female Suicide Bombers." The program is part of the UN Commission on the Status of Women 57: "Elimination and prevention of all forms of violence against women and girls." . Her biography also appears in Educational Communications Inc.'s, Who's Who Among America's Teachers: the Best Teachers in America Selected by the Best Students, 6th Ed., vol. 3, 2000. Skaine was nominated by Connie Kerns, Composition II student at Hawkeye Community College, Waterloo, Iowa.
Rosemarie Skaine has been inducted into the Grand Island Senior High Hall of Honor. Grand Island Senior High located in Nebraska is Skaine's alma mater. She is one of three chosen for 2008 and was inducted in a 2009 ceremony. The Grand Island Education Foundation supports programs for the Grand Island public schools, and the Senior High Hall of Honor is one of the programs.
