Johannesburg, South Africa Email: shryke@icon.co.za I was born in Johannesburg, South Africa, in July of 1972, and started developing a love for story telling by way of writing at a young age. My first short story - which was rather poor - was completed when I was ten years old, much to my parents amusement; they gave me a typewriter after that.
Over the years, my passion for writing and the English language as a whole has grown. In the early nineties I had my first articles published in a South African music publication, called Top 40 Magazine. Since then, I have been published on a regular basis, most recently in a magazine called New Age Gaming, which deals with the computer gaming industry. This magazine makes use of articles, reviews and opinion columns that I write.
However, my true passion still lies in the telling of tales - particularly those set in the realms of fantasy.
I suppose it sounds rather banal to say that my dream is to be a published author but, to be perfectly honest, it is precisely that. In the meantime, I am getting a regular publishing fix in a magazine devoted to electronic gaming, called NAG Magazine (www.nag.co.za)
I have recently completed my first novel and am currently searching for an agent. Working on my second novel is helping me while away the boring hours of waiting that the agent search is resulting in... Interests: Many! I love fine arts, as well as my regular dose of role playing. Other than that, I am not going to list all my "distractions" here. The list is far too protracted. I do seem to have developed a fetish for dictionaries, of late.
