Anthony Aurichio

Hilton Head, South Carolina, United States

Currently retired, I spent thirty-eight years in a variety of positions in the advertising business. Most of those positons involved
the technical evaluations of the effectiveness of media campaigns. By most any standard my carrer was successful as indicated by
the fact that I was president of three companies and a member of the board of directors of five companies. The majority of my carreer
was with the Arbitron Company, which produces the ratings for local radio and tv stations. I was president of that company for ten
years before retiring.

I was really introduced to writing when I prepared my Master's thesis on a Measurement of Advertisng Effectiveness at Fairleigh
Dickinson University. I read the document frequently to remind myself how bad some writing can be. Fortunately, I think I improved
since then and have written a number of technical pieces (one on how to beat the Blackjack tables, or at least minimize losses) and
a number of inclusive strategic and marketing business plans. About twenty years ago I prepared a tongue-in-cheek manuscript that
created a situation where the U.S. media business collapsed. I never tried to get it published and lost my only copy when my basement
flooded. I recently completed my first novel -- Twist of Fate. It's a story about a businessman whose son is killed by members of the
mob and quits a successful carreer to take revenge on the killers. I had a ball writing it, but it hasn't been a lot of fun trying to get it
published. I will probably continue writing novels, and maybe I will produce one worthy of publishing in the near future.

Interests: As an avid fan of the broadcast industry, I try to stay abreast of the trends, government positions, and the changes continually taking place. Radio is my first love. But I do admit that my efforts in this area can be interrupted by a request to play
