Riverside, California, United States Email: bmcg@pe.net Gayle Brandeis is the author of FRUITFLESH: Seeds of Inspiration for Women Who Write (HarperSanFrancisco, 2002.) Her novel, THE BOOK OF DEAD BIRDS, won the 2002 Bellwether Prize in Support of a Literature of Social Change established by Barbara Kingsolver, was published by HarperCollins May, 2003. Pudding House Publications published her chapbook, DICTIONARY POEMS, in 2003. Her work has appeared in numerous magazines and anthologies, including Salon.com and Hip Mama, and has received several honors, including the Quality Paperback Book Club/Story Magazine Short Story Award and a grant from the Barbara Deming Memorial Fund. She holds a BA in "Poetry and Movement: Arts of Expression, Meditation, and Healing" from the University of Redlands and an MFA in Creative Writing/Fiction from Antioch University.
