Marcia Theophilo was born in Fortaleza, in Brazil and lives in Rome, Italy. The topic of all hers work is the Amazonian forest its people, river, animals, trees and myths, its beauty and the danger of its destruction.
She is poet anthropologist.
She represents the Brazilian Union of Writers (U.b.e.) in Italy. She arrived in Rome in 1971, and since then it has been involved in a constant activity of cultural interchange between Italy and Brazil.
Marcia Theophilo had published books of poetry, short stories and essays and participated in many anthologies in Portuguese and in Italian languages.
She has won international literary prizes and is is listed as a candidate for the Nobel prize.
