Wendy Knight is a respected freelance writer and seasoned communications consultant based in Vermont. She writes for a range of publications including Climbing, Mountain Gazette, The New York Times, Vermont Life and The Washington Post. Her third book, Making Connections: Mother-Daughter Adventure Travel Tales will be published by Seal Press in July, 2003.

Ms. Knight has been involved in a range of communication projects: traditional media relations, advocacy campaigns, executive communications, conference planning and editorial services. She has written and edited a variety of advocacy, public relations, educational and marketing materials such as newsletters, press kits, opinion pieces, speeches, position papers, marketing brochures, advertorials and web content. Her work for clients has appeared in The Los Angeles Times, The New Republic, Newsweek, Time and U.S. News and World Report.

Ms. Knight's most recent, Managed Care: What It Is and How It Works, was awarded the 'Book of the Year' in its category by the American Journal of Nursing. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial and Labor Relations from Cornell University. A passionate outdoor enthusiast, she kayaks, climbs, rows, hikes, backpacks, skis and bikes as often as possible.
