I'm the token British European! For those of you on the other side of the pond, Europe, or at least the European Union, is the favourite whipping boy in UK politics, but as somebody who left home in '89
to do a Doctorate on EC funds at the University of Ghent in Belgium and never quite went home again, I believe in a united Europe of different peoples with each bringing something unique to the party - hell, I even know some nice Germans!!, only joking - and you can take that in any sense you like!
I'm an Analytical Chemist who always wanted to write a book, well, it took me a long time, but I achieved that aim and I'm proud of the end result which is called Avenging Spirit and simply cries out to be published! Being The Englishman Abroad, I get to do a lot of scientific editing and also referee for a few Scientific Journals,
but although I'm no stranger to scientific publishing, I'd like to see my book in print, hence this bio! I imagine that our hosts want this bit to be personal, rather than a plug for the novel, so I will honour their intent.
So, a " Bio" eh? new territory for me:
Devilishly good looking (the wife is in Switzerland tonight and I'm in Austria - so just take my word for it!)
Crushingly honest (see above, well, immediately above!)
sense of humour
Happily married (despite careers that keep us apart)
Lived and worked in Britain, Belgium, France, Monaco (the only place in the world where you can see a traffic jam of Rolls Royces and Ferraris) and Austria - one of the few places in the world where you can see a traffic jam of tractors transporting cabbages - I kid you not!!
Two Cats, no kids - would swap!
If you'd like to know anything more then all you have to do is ask
Cheers (a common British salutation!)
