Stephen LaFevers

Viola, Arkansas, United States

Home page:

I am a writer from Arkansas where I live with my wife, Jody. We have been
married for 39 years and have two grown children, Mark and Holly. I lived in California
until I was 16. As a toddler, my mother would read to me from Bugs Bunny comics.
When I was a little older, I wrote my own. I started writing short stories while in
elementary school and became fascinated with science fiction while reading "When
Worlds Collide" in junior high. I also started to study magic and hypnosis about that
same time.
As an adult, I lived in Arkansas except for the15 years in Alaska. My job took me all over
the Alaska and I loved it. I received the Governorís Commendation for my work helping to
develop the Emergency Medical Services System there.
I am a Certified Family Nurse Practitioner and Registered Hypnotherapy Instructor, with
a degree in English and Journalism and have worked as a school teacher, newspaper
editor, bus driver, security guard, and Registered Nurse in Arkansas, Missouri, and
I have written numerous magazine articles and had a regular column in the Alaska EMS
Response. I am co-author of "Pre-Hospital Care for the EMT-Intermediate," the first text
book for intermediate level EMTs based on the national standard curriculum.
"The Last Guardian," is a science fiction adventure that ranges from the
Alaskan wilderness to the far reaches of the universe. "Dreams or April Ten", available
summer 2004 from Whiskey Creek Press is a thriller involving recombinant DNA
research, cloning and murder. Soon to be published
are "Hypnosis in Healthcare," a handbook for hypnotherapy students, and "Dark Moon,"
a thriller involving murder, eternal youth experiments and werewolves.
