Having grown up in Cardiff, I joined the 1st Battalion Welsh Guards at the age of 19
where I saw active service in Northern Ireland and the Falklands war of 1982. I was
also the battalion photographer and my duties included taking the Queen's portrait
for the front cover of the 1981 Cardiff Tattoo. I was also the photographer for Prince
Charles and Princess Diana's engagement ball at the Guildhall London. My military
memoir titled, In Sights: The Story Of A Welsh Guardsman, was published by The
History Press in 2013.
After leaving the army in 1983, I joined the BBC Wales Film Unit and my experience
of the Falklands war was made into a BBC 1 Play For Today titled, Mimosa Boys.
The Tony Award winning Welsh actor Owen Teale played the character based on
me in his first TV role after Owen and I had become firm friends in Guildford,
Surrey, due to Owen completing his drama course at the college and my being
stationed in Pirbright nearby.
I have recently published two novels exclusively on Kindle because, having been
disappointed with the traditional publishing industry, I want to have control over my
Delphian is a thriller set in Wales with the focus on a rogue agent of British
intelligence. His conscience compromised, our hero, who was a specialist in
covering up potential governmental ban skins, begins to uncover a government
funded atrocity. Delphian is receiving excellent reviews.
WTF is an untypical love story focusing on the private life of an SAS-type soldier
who has problems when his pacifist/Christian girlfriend finds out what he really does
for a living. The story stumbles from one drama to another.
I currently live in west Wales, UK and I'm working hard on my next novel.
