Words have been my toys since I found out that I was allowed to play with them - as children my brother, sister and I had our biggest hidings for telling lies and since stories were untrue I thought telling a story was akin to telling a lie. When I was first asked to make up a story my imaginative world exploded into an endless array of entertainment for me.
I grew up on a farm in Zimbabwe and have spent my adult life in South Africa. I grew up in - and still live in - a library. Books are my greatest treasure and the first thing I look at in someone's home is their bookshelves - to see what their greatest treasures are.
A blank page remains my greatest inspiration. How shall I fill it?
I have written numerous educational articles and booklets for various organisations and my first book is currently in the process of being published (available in July). I love to see words arranged in perfect order on a page so that the reader can absorb them easily.
I have recently discovered that I have a gift for taking other people's words and, whilst remaining true to their voice, polish it to a gleaming sheen.
