I have a Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy from Converse
College and a Bachelor of Science in Experimental Psychology from
the University of South Carolina Upstate. I also did a two-year
postgraduate fellowship in Mindfulness, Ecopsychology and the
Family System through Westgate Training and Consultation Network.
Prior to becoming a Marriage and Family Therapist, I worked in the
addiction treatment field.
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in South Carolina. I
am trained in Motivational Enhancement Therapy, Motivational
Interviewing, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, LGBT-Q Issues in the
Family, Ecopsychology, and Mindfulness.
I am a board-approved provider of continuing education courses in
South Carolina. I am also the Chair of the Education Committee for
the South Carolina Association of Marriage and Family Therapists
My area of research and interest is using Mindfulness and
Ecopsychology to facilitate Acceptance/Change strategies within a
family systemic framework, and I have presented research at several
conferences and seminars on this and other topics. I facilitate
workshops on Mindfulness, Family Therapy and Ecopsychology
throughout the Southeast.
I am the author of the Mindful Mood Management Workbook, Starting
a Family Therapy Business and The Mindful Ecotherapy Handbook.
