Let me introduce myself . My name is Lori Plegge and I live in Little Rock, AR with
my husband Cliff. I was born in Little Rock and was adopted at the age of 4
months. I graduated from Newport High School and have lived in Mississippi,
Virginia, North Dakota and Minnesota since then. I love to travel and I have visited
all of the states except Hawaii, Colorado, and Michigan. I have also been to Mexico
and Canada. My hobbies are photography and baking as well as playing the piano.
My life, just like everyone else's, has had it's share of ups and downs. The worst
day in my life was March 16, 2007 when I lost my oldest son, Anthony. He was 19
year old. The second was May 24, 2015 when I lost my baby sister, Angie.
Because of the encouragement from Cliff, co-workers, friends, and family, I have
written two books. The first book I wrote was "When Tomorrow Starts Without Me".
This book is in memory of my son, Anthony. It is a mother's perspective of my son's
life, his tragic death, how I overcame his death, and am now helping others. The
second book is a cookbook, "Well, Butter My Butt & Call Me a Biscuit". This
cookbook has 6 generations of Southern family recipes. Not only that but it also has
some cute meal in a jar and gift in a jar recipes, along with recipes for bear,
opossum, raccoon, frog legs, squirrel, rabbit, and Dutch Oven recipes, If you like
homemade ice cream, homemade pies, homemade biscuits, fried okra, black eye
peas, and turnip greens, then you will LOVE this cookbook. There are almost 600
recipes in this book.
Cliff and I met each other in 2nd grade at Gibbs Albright in Newport, AR and have
known each other every since. We never dated in high school but had a crush on
each other. In August 2009, Cliff contacted me on Facebook. At the time, I was
living in Minnesota. One thing led to another and at the end of September 2009, I
moved back to Arkansas to be with him. On August 31, 2013, Cliff and I got
married at our favorite spot, Little Red River Rustic Cabins in Oxley, AR.
Cliff and I love surprising each other with trips. We don't tell the other person where
we are going, just what to pack and for how long. The best surprise I got from him
was a chance to ride in a retired NASCAR. We went 180 mph!!!! Talk about an
adrenalin rush!!! I think the best surprise I ever gave him was going to Washington
State to stay with a dear friend of his. Another thing Cliff and I are doing is learning
to overcome our fears. He is no longer afraid of snakes and heights. Me, well the
only fear I have is of wasps and I don't think I will ever overcome that fear.
One thing I have learned is not to settle in life. Enjoy each moment as if it were you
last. Tell your loved ones how much you love them and hug them regularly. I am
happier today than I have ever been in my life.
Interests: cooking, travel, photography, and playing the piano.
