Ardara Harris, a pillar of his community, passionately writes his stories in order to
captivate, cultivate, and minister to his audience. This gift from God has enabled him
to develop a program that redefines the most troubled young men into productive
citizens. When working with more than 150 males at a time, he is able to creative
teach them to express themselves through "stepping." Since developing this team,
Ardara has been able to touch many lives from the middle years through college, and
then on to adulthood.
Ardara Harris was born the youngest of four siblings, raised in a very stable home in a
very unstable environment on the Northeast side of Houston, Texas in Studewood.
His parents, knowing the leadership abilities and quality of a good male needed to be
harnessed, enrolled him in Boy Scouts and the Rotary Boys Club of America and sent
him to get his education away from the neighborhood schools to deter him from being
subdued by his immediate surroundings.
While becoming an exceptional athlete at a five percent ingested minority school,
Harris also graduated at the top 10% of his class. During his four-year tenure, he
lettered in football and baseball and was awarded a full athletic scholarship.
Starting in Oklahoma and ending in his home State of Texas, Harris began what he
calls his maze of undergraduate study where he also worked diligently to maintain a
living and excel in life as his upbringing had prepared him to do, thanks to his loving
During his seventh year with HISD, Ardara began to feel that teaching did not
adequately satisfy his passion for writing. He is a teacher of Mathematics, so he
began implementing a writer's break for his Math students to try and spark an interest
in his students' imagination. This is where he began writing his first novel.
In creating his first Novel titled “Foolish Men”, Harris says that it was looking into his
son’s eyes that inspired him to write this very insightful book. His second Novel,
“Whoa-Man” (Because Men Just Don’t Give a Damn!), was birthed due to his personal
experience of marriage and the struggles of life and being able to gain an
understanding of the another side of the coin. After the tragic loss of his brother,
Harris pushed through a place where no one should have to go and through his pain,
his passion was once again rekindled which produced yet a third book titled, “Skin
Games” (Is Success Measured by Tint?).
In addition to these novels, Ardara has began a stage play entitled, "She's Cashing
In!" it portrays women who abuse the child support system by trapping men into
paying ridiculous amounts of money for expensive lifestyles.
