James Shimwitwa

5730, Nyamuna street, Spark Orchard
Mansa, Zambia

I am 43 years old. I studied electronics at copperbelt university. My interest in literary works dates back to 1987. Over the years I have written several short stories. A few of them have been published. I recently wrote my first novel, 'I will kill my mother'. I am currently writing my second novel, 'murdered by the minister'. The manuscript for the first novel is completed. My short stories include ' Ndina and the drums of sorrow' which featured on ZNBC's book spectrum in 2009. Recently times of Zambia published my story 'My disastrous job interview outing'
Reading culture has waned in Zambia. Movies and music have taken front seat. Writers have a challenge of producing quality work to stand any chance of magnetising their readers to read beyond the first chapter of their books. My two novels set out to keep my readers glued to the page, chapter after chapter until 05:00 am
