    Got a request from the woman I think is your agent, but I knew it wasn't right for her. I was right. Starting to send out some follow-up emails. Hardly anyone answers me, but one nice agency said they were currently reviewing my book and would get back to me shortly. This was so appreciated...why can't more of them write a little note like that?

    Uh-oh, we've hijacked this thread. To get back on topic, Jane von Mehren at Random House said that in a query, you want to put just enough bait on your line to catch the fish, not to overdo it. If you Google her, you can find the exact quotation.
