Ok, I've revised that after reading the other posts yesterday. I had chosen that number because JK Rowling apparently had that many rejections before Harry Potter was published. (I know I know, stupid...)

Maybe after twice Rowling's rejections, you'll achieve half her fame & fortune. Could you live with that? 68 rejections and then earn 50% of what she made off of HP & the Sorceror's Stone earned.

    Allie,

I'm also a lesbian although I'm trapped in the body of a male hillbilly from Alabama.

But serially, I love J.K. Rowling, let me count the ways. I do think she's a fine writer and her success is deserved BUT we shouldn't forget that she's not any Horatio Alger story, in actual fact. She's a well-educated, accomplished professional who CHOSE to go on welfare and write her first book. I mean, the book is what it is but in the cold, hard light of day, she wasn't some poor, unlettered, never-had-a-chace-except-to-pull-herself-up-by-her-own-bootstraps sort of guttersnipe who bettered herself through sheer guts and ambition. She had a lot going for herself and made a conscious decision to forego her career and write while being supported on the public dole.

Which, let me emphasize again, doesn't make her accomplishments one whit less important.

    Meanwhile, write another book.

Brady, I'd take 2% and be happy.
