Sad: Everyone feels badly when they get a rejection but you have to toughen up and send out more queries. Even if you think an agent is going to offer you a contract, keep submitting to other agents. I learned the hard way. Good luck!

    Oh you poor sad thing!

You probably have many more to come. And you know what? it doesn't mean you can't write. Each one will get better and better, and more positive. Just realise that this is a learning curve. Edit your work to within an inch of its life! Take criticism on board like you are an new ocean liner desperate for passengers! Don't have your head up your arse! (like I did for a while!)

Learn from it, move on, and improve.

My wife and I just received our second rejection ... to a partial. We had stopped sending queries because we were so sure.... I'm depressed. But we will persist. One e-query last night. At least a dozen more – by e-mail or snail – this weekend. And so it goes....

The first is hardest, but I'm on my 42nd. Let the good times roll! Wooohoo! It just doesn't get to me anymore. Don't worry, with luck you'll be numb soon.

I think querying's kind of like a gamble, myself...Like going to Vegas--ya might leave broke or you might hit it big, but it's fun to have a chance to try either way...Just because you strike out the first time doesn't mean that you'll strike out everytime...Keep that smile on your face, & keep trying.
