    Writers House?

Has anyone dealt successfully with any agents at Writer's House? I saw on everyonewhosanyone.com, Gerald had a not so good response from one of their agents, but P&E doesn't have anything on them. Any inside scoops?
    thanx, Shannon

Gerald gives good info, but he has a bone to pick with most agents. His listings are accurate and thorough, and his opinions amusing, but take his negative responses with a bag of salt.

They are a big agency. Agents respond in many ways. Sometimes it's good, sometimes it's bad. So don't whine.

    Hi,

I queried an agent there via snail mail (I thought I read somewhere they don't accept email but could be wrong). I got a reply in the mail in a little more than a week (I live in CA), so the turnaround seems pretty fast.

Writers House is big and legit.

In my experience, they took forever to reject me. They also seemed to request exclusives when it wasn't necessary (ex. an exclusive on a 3 chapter piece).

My experience was with Al G. (?) and Faye something. Can't remember and my records are at home while I'm at work.

They are the real deal. They have countless clients--though there are pros and cons to that.

Thanx for the input. I went ahead and submitted a query to Richard Morris there, i'm kindof regretting doing it through email, though. I kindof got carried away today. oops.

    Hi, Shannon:

WH is very big, and very busy. My experience was with Merrilee Heifetz. Yes, a rejection, but it came quickly, as these things go.

    Good luck,
    Jackie

    Jackie,
How quickly? I mailed my query letter out almost 3 weeks ago and still haven't heard a thing. Maybe it was the incredible query letter! (haha)

    Re: Writers House?

I had a very professional experience with an assistant to one of the biggies there. The assistant answered my e-query the same day asking for a partial. He read the partial within hours of its arrival and asked for the full (non-exclusive, and this is the assistant to Mr. Exclusive at WH). Now, seven weeks later, he has sent back the ms (his dime) with comments (I'm still waiting for the package). But he was kind enough to email ahead to let me know. My story ends with a rejection, I'm afraid. But as you can see, he was very timely and professional throughout the process.

I got rejected by Paul Fedorko recently. Then I sent it to another agent in the company. Took about a month, maybe longer I'm busy with other things.
