    Re: Lara

    Hi Frazzled,

I'll throw my two cents in as well.

You say you've already had some offers. I would contact the other agents and let them know that, so they can either read your work or step out of the game. This will shorten your list to include only agents making offers.

Then take your list of offers, look at everyone's sales records, what type of work they represent, and (this is a biggie) how much they love your book.

Good luck, and let us know what happens!

P.S. I do have experience with two of those agencies, but with different agents. If you'd like to discuss, let's take it off the board.

    to clarify

Frazzled has had offers of rep from several people on the list, but wants to make sure she goes with the right one. Many of those offers have been from the UK agencies but she'd prefer a US agency, so she's holding off the UK ones for as long as she can. She should be hearing from several of the US ones this week—hence, the quest for more information.

    Re: to clarify

Vicky Bijur is regarded as a player who just happens to operate in a very low key manner. She was nice to work with and offered actual feedback on my manuscript as she rejected it.

    Feeling a little sheepish...

Thanks everyone...after this fiasco with, well, you know who...I'm a little jumpy. Guess I need to calm down. I had never seen Frazzled before. Now I'm just a little embarrassed! Frazzled, please accept my apologies!

...and WOW! Congrats on all the interest in your ms!

Betsy Amster is not my agent but she is a very nice lady. I don't believe her list has much commercial women's fiction on it-- she specializes in more quirky stuff-- but definitely a good egg.

    Hi,

Can't help you much. I queried two agents on your list. One has the partial, one I received an r from. However the one I received an r from I later realized I misspelled her name. I think you have too. I think it's Helen Breitwieser not Breitweiser. I really liked that's she's LA based (as am I) but I don't know if that makes a difference for you.

I think Zoe P has connections in both the UK and the US, so she could be a good one.
