It's true that the best answer to questions such as Suzanne's is to read the history of the strings here, but as Hamish (the site moderator) notes on another string, Suzanne can hardly expect to know that (or even to know much about there even being a history on queries such as hers on this discussion board) unless someone politely tells her that. Hers is obviously a legitmate question and a common way to ask it if for no other reason that someones does it that way here almost every day. I don't think she's the one who needed to lighten up.

Welcome, Jim. Can I get a haircut?
Hardy har har har.
Oh wait, Pretty Boyd's don't have hair--they have feathers.

Re: Jim
One thing you can't glean about agents or publishers from doing your research is the personal stories. I like to ask other writers what their experiences were with a certain agent. So I don't see a problem with Suzanne's query. Jim, if you don't want to answer questions like Suzannes, just skip 'em; somebody else will help.
I guarantee you I'll be posting questions in the future about certain agents. And I'll be doing my homework/research as well.

Agent Questions/Email LInks
First of all, I don't think it's a problem for someone to post questions about an agent if they've done an archive search and come up with nothing. It's when the same agents' names come up over and over again (American Literary Agents, etc.) that it gets annoying.
Second of all (and more bizarrely): Suzanne, are you also posting as Richard? Cos it's pretty strange that both of your email links come up as GOLDENPACIFICA@aol.com.
Just wondering.

Re: Agent Questions/Email LInks
Hmm. I wondered that as well just on the basis of asking the same sort of question with the same all-cap headline (and both from aol).

I'd like to apologize for making fun of your name and for suggesting that it isn't your real name. I was out of line and I'm sorry.

Re: Brady
Neil, you're a big man to apologize--not something most of us find easy. It is accepted and I look forward to great conversations/debates with you in the future.

Nothing like a response to a ten year old thread.
