    NY TImes article

Someone reprinted an article in the NY Times for September 20 in which a group of agents were interviewed about the current state of the industry. Here's the information:

An Odd Business Felt Even Odder
    September 20, 2001
    By MARTIN ARNOLD

You might be able to read it on line.

Thanks for the tip. I've been trying to bring it up, but can't get the article. I'll see if it's at the library tomorrow. Meanwhile, would you be able to tell us, in general, what they're saying? For example, someone said not to send proposals until the middle of October. Thanks again. Lucia

Who told you not to send proposals until mid-October? While it's understandable the industry is in a flux, is there some unofficial date/deadline floating around, say, after Frankfurt?

    Please enlighten me!

May I ask where is Frankfurt? I find it hard to believe everyone is going to Germany.

Well, it may be hard to believe, but everyone is going to Germany. It's one of the biggest events of each publishing year.
