My book pops up on BN. Means what?

My latest book just popped up on Barnes & Noble's online bookstore. It says "not yet available". Does this mean my book is in Books in Print? Does it mean the book will be eventually listed with Amazon's online bookstore? What DOES it mean? Or does it mean nothing at all? Thank you for any info you can provide.

Johnny, why don't you contact BN.com and ask the customer service department these questions. Get the answers straight from the source.

Johnny, it means you haven't done half enough waiting yet. Go on holiday to the North Pole for 3 months and everything might be sorted out when you get back. Second thoughts, if you are worried about Amazon you'd better make that 6 months.

    Johnny,
When your book was printed you got the ISBN. Balkers (who assigns the numbers)send something to Barnes and Noble. However you have to send two books to Barnes and Noble and they will evaluate it, along with the price and if they okay it, it will change to be able to order it. If you need help with this e-mail my friend Lisa@ppspublishing.com. I had her send what Barnes and Noble needed from my book. It takes a few weeks, but you will be up and going!

Re: My book pops up on BN. Means what?

    Yeah, pretty much it.

My publisher just got a phone call a few days ago about my most-recent title, from some individual who wanted a copy. On BN.com, it's listed as "out of print." Getting a title onto Amazon is a snap -- there are endless hoops for B&N. Basically, B&N (like many other sites) see that a new ISBN has been registered, & snatch it. That's all.
