    solicitation cover

I received my solicitation cover... what does that mean? Is it the cover used to approach book buyers with?

Beats me. Who did you receive it from? (And you can't ask them what it is?)

I received it from my editor and she's on vacation for 2 weeks.

You received one copy of this? Does it appear to be a version of the cover for your book? Is it the first version of the cover you've seen? Still a headscratcher to me.

Yes it is my book cover but no it is not the first version I've seen. I was wondering what made it a "solicitation" cover. When I find out, I'll let you know !

    Re: solicitation cover

Is it a flat? I mean, is it a cover (front and back) with no book inside? I got 17 of those at some point before my book came out. The flip side had marketing stuff on it, so I assume they were sending them to booksellers or else out with salespeople.

Minnie it is a front and back with no book inside but there is no marketing stuff on the flip - the flip is blank. And I only got one. But thanks, you're probably right as to what it is.

If it's your final cover, a writer, get it framed, or ask Santa to do it for Christmas. :-)

That's what Santa gave me last year.

Author--It's probably the solicitation flat before the marketing information was printed on the flip side.

I've got file drawers of the same thing.
