Question Paid Promotions - Do They Work?

I'm interested in trying a few paid promotions for the first book in my trilogy. Has anyone found cost-effective sites which have produced results?

    Thanks in anticipation.

Really, Mutt? YOU'VE tried PAID promotion? That strikes me as very un-Mutt of you.

What sites have you been looking at? How do they promote your book? What amount do you consider "cost effective"?

That's not something you just forget. Maybe some pointers on what not to do for Ken? Heheh.

Oh, yeah, baby. Gotta promote my website wherever and whenever. Releasing the first post on the new part of my website tomorrow for anyone who's interested. Calling it Oberonics.

But back to Ken, if he'll answer my questions.

My pointer is not to waste money on advertising.
