    What tends to work for me, is to watch a movie in the genre I'm writing in, just kick back, relax, don't even think of the work, and more often than not, I get inspired or get a nugget of an idea, that will usually help propel me forward. Also going for a drive with movie soundtracks also tends to get the mind rolling the right way. I really hope that helps you, tjm.

    I took a break from writing, watched my favorite TV shows, did some retail therapy. Then I returned to my manuscript, telling myself to just write one paragraph, and that got the ball rolling.
