Ah. I really find American dates confusing
Also, I will take it that 'bud' is not as insulting as it seems.

So you thought that 02/20/14 was what the 20th month or the 14th month? Lol, nice try.

Nope. Initially I had just looked into the Non-fiction section, as that is what I write, and spotted an interesting-sounding thread. I think it was the second or third most recently updated thread so when I saw the 'day' of the previous post was 02 and the day I was looking was 10 I carelessly thought it was only 8 days old.
When you first attacked me about it I went back and, again, didn't read them carefully and so perpetuated my mistake. I am happy to accept my sloppy reading based on the assumption that the most recent threads would be recently active.

Whatever the reason for my posting I don't see why it justified the attack in the first place. Did I miss something in the rules? Is there an in-joke that I am not getting? Or do all new members trying to find their feet in the forum offend you?

It's the latter...particularly new members who revive old threads. Mutt's pretty prickly about that. I don't know why.

It doesn't bother me in the least. Whether the thread's 8 months or 8 years old, I think if you have a comment, you should post it. I thought your comment was great - fit right in with the issue.

    Thank you.
