    Real Money!

Woot! I got my first royalty check from Amazon this weekend, a whopping $10.50! The drink is on me ;-)

Good for you! Three months ago I got my first royalty check from Amazon as well. If felt great!

Last month I eclipsed the $20 mark for royalties! As your original post is 3 months old, I hope you're having even more success.

I was just as excited four days ago when my third book sold a total of 4 copies in its first day - more than either of the previous 2 books.

Even better than the royalty check (for me) was when I got a message from a reader who enjoyed my writing!

    Good luck and keep writing!

Lol, thanks all. I've done absolutely zip with respect to marketing my books, other than a Facebook posting and some word-of-mouth, and these things get buried almost immediately amid the avalanche of self-published works, so I'm not likely to turn a profit any time soon. So far, it's just neat to see my name in print, but I may get serious about it some day.

I predict Jenna and Elise will take off on your fourth book in the series. I think you're a great storyteller, Gil. You're going to make a decent income from this with time and persistence.

lo, thanks for the encouragement, all. I actually had a spate of sales over the last couple of weeks as the folks around the office finally cottoned on to my literary side career. Dropping the price of the books for a week didn't hurt either ;-)

Congrats! Hopefully, word of mouth will spread and the first check will be the drop in a very big bucket.
