Not really. Not to me, anyway. Selective editing removes context and the responses don't entirely make sense. To me, it would be better to delete the entire thread, particularly a thread like this, as it lacked value to begin with.
It's different in a thread regarding a query letter in which people gave some valuable advice. Then I can see deleting the offending posts but leaving the rest. But this thread? Easier to kill the whole thing than to have fragments of a (basically dumb) conversation remaining.
Just my opinion, of course. I remember having this conversation with Victoria as well.
