    Query letter biography

Hi Guys. I have a quick question. I'm considering writing the biography part of my query in third person, like you'd find on a book jacket... you know: Novelist Stephen King lives with his wife and three cats in Bangor Maine. Something along those lines, but pertinent to the query. I won't get into why I'm considering it, but is it permissible or advisable? Thanks to all who respond, and Good Luck!!!

Bios are typically written in first person. I'd stick to tradition.

    Hi Tinman -

    What Jean said. First person.

Also, if what you're intending to include is as irrelevant as Novelist Stephen King lives with his wife and three cats in Bangor Maine, don't do it. That's fine for the book jacket, but you don't include stuff like that in a query letter.

You probably already know that, but I just thought I'd mention it.

    Yo, Tin.

I just wanted to pass on a couple things.

Yes to the notion yer bio in a Q oughta be in first person.

The other thing is, be wary when Leslee lapses into patois such as "sistah." That often means she's had one too many tuna melts. What I'm sayin."

    Okay, I posted twice.

All I was trying to do was correct the spelling of patois. First post said patios.

Being stupid is NOT a good thing, no matter how many congressman embrace it.
