    Exclamation WN Change of Ownership

Hi, everyone - I just wanted to let you all know: I was recently informed that the owner of Writers.net has just sold the site to CrowdGather, the site that's been managing the vBulletin software upgrade. I'm not sure what effect this will have on the site as a whole, but I wanted to go ahead and share the information.

I have not yet heard from Crowdgather, but will stick around through tomorrow, the last day of June, to answer questions, etc. In the event that I'm not part of the site going forward, I'd like to take this opportunity to say "Thank You!" I have really enjoyed the opportunity to interact with all of you - WN is host to such a diverse, interesting, and often hilarious group of creative thinkers and talented writers that it's bound to thrive eventually.

    Thanks, everyone!

It's been a pleasure, Victoria. Here's hoping you're not going anywhere. Thank you for all your hard work - I know you did the best you could in every situation, and I, for one, appreciate it. Please keep us posted.

    Interesting development.

I can't imagine they'd find a more capable, even-tempered moderator. Hopefully they have the good sense to ask you to stay, assuming you want to work for the new boss.

And everything you know about the world of woo-woo. Even if it's "rubbish."

Victoria, I hope you aren't going anywhere! I just googled Crowdgather and I am baffled. Why exactly would one buy a forum?

That was too funny, jayce. I actually envisioned a gathering crowd chanting, "google, google, google" or some such adsense.

Advertising where exactly? I haven't seen any pop ups or ads of any kind. Am I missing something?
