    Designing Front Covers ..... Resources

    I was wondering if anyone knows of good resources in regards to designing software (free ?) i have a design in mind for one of my projects and this is the first step to looking at what's out there

    Any answers appreciated

    Depending on what you need, you might want to take a look at Scribus. It's mostly a DTP or page layout program, but you can easily use it to create a cover. Or, if you want to start with an image and overlay it with text, consider The Gimp. Both programs are FOSS, so it's not like you'll be out any money.
