    submission question

I have choosen 5 publications to submit my children's story to. It is a picture book. My question is this: Most of the ones I have choosen say if your MS is a picture book to send the full manuscript. Do I still need to send a query letter with it also? Some require both while the rest do not say anything about a query letter. Thanks

    Re: submission question

If sending a complete ms, you'll want to include a cover letter. The format is similar to a query. Use a sentence or two to describe the book. Then another sentence or two describing yourself. Then the concluding thanking-for-time-and-consideration sentence.

But since the ms is enclosed, you don't need to sell it as hard as you would in a traditional query.

    Good luck.

Please be sure you have spellchecked your work before you send it out, including the cover letter.
