    I don't know how the convo went from the contest to lottery tickets, but L'Afrique to my knowledge in the U.S. all writing competitions have entry fees. I have not found one single writing competition that does not have an entry fee. Sorry, but I just wanted to point that out to you. If you or anyone else know of any that are free I would love to be directed to them. Thanks.

    There are writing contests out there that don't charge entry fees, but you have to look for them. Some resources for you:
